Makerspace

Creating at the commons

The Jasper Commons Makerspace is a hands-on creative workshop designed to encourage experimentation, learning, and skill-building. Open to community members of all experience levels, the space provides access to tools and equipment that allow visitors to turn ideas into physical projects. Whether working on personal creations, learning new techniques, or participating in community workshops, the makerspace supports creativity and practical problem-solving in a collaborative environment.

The space includes a range of fabrication tools and machines that support both traditional and modern forms of making. Digital fabrication equipment such as 3D printers and CNC machines allow users to design and produce precise components and prototypes, while tools like a lathe and sewing machine support woodworking, repair work, and textile projects. Together, these tools give visitors the opportunity to explore multiple disciplines, from small-scale manufacturing and product design to crafts and practical trades.

By combining accessible tools with a supportive community environment, the makerspace helps people develop new skills, share knowledge, and bring creative ideas to life. It serves as a place where beginners can learn, experienced makers can collaborate, and community members can discover the satisfaction of building something themselves.
